5 Tips for Boosting Your Energy

“I just don’t have enough energy to……” This is a common complaint that I hear from many clients. Many of us wear so many hats during the day that we are exhausted day after day. This lack of energy can negatively effect many areas of your life. After completing your long to do list, you are left with no energy for anything! Here are 5 areas that you need to pay attention to if you are going to boost your energy.


SLEEP

I know that sleep is the first thing we give up when a busy day strikes or you have deadlines to meet. If you are feeling tired during the day, then you may not be getting enough sleep. Aim to get 7-8 hours of sleep. If you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, essential oils can help with both. Check out this blog for more information.

DIET

Food is fuel, so you need to feed your body healthy nutritious foods. Avoid foods that are processed or high in sugar. These foods can contribute to you feeling lazy and sluggish. STRESS

Stress is a major cause of fatigue and negatively impacts our bodies and minds. It is also super hard to overcome without the right tools. My biggest weapons against stress are meditation and essential oils. I meditation at least for 20 minutes each morning, and some days repeat it in the afternoon. In addition to meditation, I diffuse a calming essential oil if I am working from home or have my “chill out” blend with me at all times. This blend is always in my purse and I use it by smelling it from cupped hands. I might use it to be proactive to take the edge of before a stressful situation begins or I use it when I’m feeling stressed and overwhelmed.

ESSENTIAL OILS

Essential oils have the ability to give you a little boost when you’re feeling like your energy has been zapped. There are a few options for a quick fix.

  1. Place a drop of peppermint in the palm of your hands. Rub your hands together and then cup the hands over the nose and mouth. Inhale a couple of times. This will wake you up in no time.

  2. I also like popping a doTERRA peppermint beadlet in my mouth. It freshens my breathe and gives me an energy boost all at the same time.

  3. Apply a drop of each oil (peppermint, lemongrass, bergamot) to the back of the neck, spine, and bottom of the feet 3x daily.

DEHYDRATION

Not drinking enough water during the day is HORRIBLE! It will give you a headache, make you sluggish, prevent you from losing weight, and so much more. Just drink water please! Eight glasses is the minimum amount of water you should drink. You will need to drink more depending on the climate of where you live, if you worked out, or even if you drank coffee.
